Last year I planned a day of Plein Air painting in the snow in Wellsboro, PA. I really love the Victorian homes, old trees, and gaslights, especially in winter. I set up on The Green to paint the St. Paul's Episcopal church when I caught this scene behind me. It had just begun to snow again and the shapes of the buildings and trees seemed to blend in with the snow-filled sky. The air was soft, the snow inviting. People were cheerfully greeting on another. We all agreed, it was a beautiful wintry day. I was grateful and happy to be there.
Bibi S. Brion was born in 1973 in de Pijp, a vibrant multi-cultural neighborhood in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She lived in Amsterdam until 2007 when she moved briefly to Tokyo, Japan. In 2008 Bibi married an American businessman and they moved to his home town in rural, northern Pennsylvania to assist in the care of his disabled father. Today, they live and work in a renovated farmhouse with their two and four-year-old sons. Always a self-starter, Bibi has performed in rock bands and worked in the media and fashion industries. She is a past regular columnist in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, where she shared knowledge and expertise in local foraging and is trained in graphic design.
